METRO is spending millions of your tax dollars to get you to vote yes on a $3.5 billion bond in the coming election. That must stop.
Responsible Houston has decided to fight this wasteful spending.
Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. some of the organizers of this fight against pay-to-play politics will hold a news conference near the site of the unfinished $300 million Uptown bus project.
“This is the perfect place to illustrate the insanity of writing METRO a blank check,” says Congressional candidate Jim Noteware, who was invited by the organizers to speak in support. “Some of these projects won’t even be finalized for 15 or 20 years. When toll riders find out they will lose already congested car lanes they already paid for to accommodate bus lanes they will be outraged. There are so many things wrong with this half-baked plan.”
METRO is dominating the airwaves with their TV commercials. It is time to give Houston taxpayers the real story.
